ABSOLUTION (added 04-10-2005) Absolution is a band that hopes to be one of the frontrunners of the heavy metal genre for the 21st century.  We're not talking' down tuned, noisy, screaming, massively cloned bullshit.  We're talking' real metal. Forget that... just real music made for the sake of making good music.  The songs can be intensely brutal thrash-fests with a vortex of relentless riffing or refreshingly melodic, creative and complex epics.  Absolution: Reaching the rarely achieved platuea of beauty and brutality. ABYSMAL DAWN (added 02-06-2005) Aggressive modern death with the best elements of both black and thrash metal.  Abysmal Dawn blends the catchiness and technicality of early 90's American death with ample doses of both atmosphere and melody.  Pain ridden death growls, complex drumming and soaring leads all help make this band a must hear! ADVENT (added 05-31-2006) ADVENT started in 2000, the concept exceeds a decade. There has been constant line up changes but Edgardo (drums), ArchAngel (guita,vocals) have been there since the beginning. The current line up adds Sifub Won (guitar) and Jimmy B Good on bass. We all share the love for melodic power metal in tha band AGENT STEEL This is the Combat Records band from the mid 80's who has come back recently to create Metal the only way they know how.  Now on Metal Blade Records, Agent Steel has just put out a killer release titled The Omega Conspiracy, Metal at its finest.  The members of Agent Steel include Bruce Hall (Vocals), Juan Garcia (Guitars), Bernie Versailles (Guitars), Karlos Medina (Bass), and Chuck Profus (Drums). ANAK (added 04-12-2009) Formed from the dredges of the collective south-bay Los Angeles music scene, Anak rises as an unrelenting force of human annihilation.  These four despondent individuals carry the collective self-interest of smashing the norm and breathing not life, rather, puking death straight down the throats of the non-believers.   Their influences vary from member to member, everything from old-school metal to jazz/blues/punk/industrial etc.   Some major influences include Kreator, Possessed, Mayhem, Nile, Vader, Cryptopsy, Integrity, Death, Destruction, Suffocation, Carnivore, Crematorium, Sadistic Intent, Morbid Angel, Necrophagist, Bathory, Deicide and more. Anak are powerful, raw and maniacal, using deadly riff-age and fast unrelenting drumming to create a mood of total destruction and utter carnage.  Unlike some Death Metal bands who simple wield a blunt axe through talent and flow, Anak's slow pace and constant beat keeps them in complete control of their music whilst their talent is plain for all to hear.  All of Anak's members work well together to produce a great sounding record, one practiced to perfection and executed with style and a truly grim outlook.  Anak come from the sunny side of the US, but when their music fills the soundwaves, the atmosphere is dark, bleak and unremorseful. ANESTHETISM (added 12-07-2008) Anesthetism started a couple of years with the coming together of Mike Romo (guitar) and Alex Stowell (Bass & Vocals).  Original drummer Eric Wetterstrum was replaced after a year by Johnny "Monster" Sandoval.  The trio is committed to precision execution and technical brutality.  Citing such influences as Meshugga, Cephalic Carnage and Psycroptic the band could be described as Death, Doom, Psychedelic, and Thrash.  Staying away from samples, keyboards effects and female vocals, Anesthetism prides itself on involving as few machines as necessary in its sound, as well as ripping the live set flawlessly.  If it is not brutal, it does not matter. APOCALYPSIS (added 03-28-2010) We are Apocalypsis, an East Los Angeles based metal band playing small gigs since 2007, but have recently been going to higher places.  We have all our original material and aren't afraid to show our influences into our music.  We try to take it to a new level mixing up thrash, power, death, folk, and a lot others including classical and blues.  We play for the love of the music we don't play to be loved.  We are always up for booking so check out our MySpace page. ARMORED ASSASSIN (added 03-25-2007) Armored Assassin is an up and coming Thrash Metal Band from Temecula, CA.  They have been together since 2005. ATHAME (added 06-19-2010) Athame is an anti-Christian black metal band formed in 2009 from Loma Linda and the San Bernardino mountains.  A lot of their influences come from early '90s black metal such as Gorgoroth, Immortal, Mayhem, Aeternus, and Dissection to name a few, and inject their sound with the intensity and brutality of death metal.  They are uncompromising and push extremity to the limits as well as explore darker, atmospheric elements of black metal. BATTLEFRONT (updated 06-19-2010) Started in January of 2007, Battlefront came together thru mutual friends and started writing songs.  We veered away from our earlier, more mainstream sound, and geared up for a more thrash, speed, death sound that crushes all enemies of metal.  We have loyal fans known as S.O.B.'s (Soldiers Of Battlefront) to help us in our quest for world domination. CARNAGE DRIVEN (added 04-01-2009) Carnage Driven hails from Bloomington, CA and have been a band since early 2008.  We play what we call "Blackened Battlistic Death Metal.  Crushing blast beats that sound like a Tiger tank is on the horizon with a lot of guitar shredding, low bass hymns and duel vocalists for excessive low death moans with Blackened Screams of pain and torture.  We don't follow a set style we create our own which so far is getting a lot of positive reviews from fans! CATTLE DECAPITATION Cattle Decapitation is by far Southern California's most devastating death metal acts to date.  Mixing the intensity of bands like Carcass and Discordance axis, Cattle Decapitation redefine the "goregrind" genre using highly disturbing and provocative subjects such as cannibalism, genocide and vegetarianism.  Featuring the founding member of the popular sci-fi grindcore group, The Locust, on drums and their current drummer on guitar, they've made quite a name for themselves in the grindcore/death metal arena. CAUSTIC FELON (added 09-19-2009) Starting in early 2000 Matt Arbaugh (Lead Guitarist) had an idea to fulfill his dream and start a band.  His biggest influences have come from Guitarist’s such as Alex Lifeson, Ted Nugent and later with Legends like DimeBag Darrel Abbot and Zakk Wylde.  But Matt started with a bit of a disadvantage, from an early age he had fell into the grips of addiction and had his fair share of run-ins with the law, these life experiences would come to form the name of their band "Caustic Felon". About this time Paul (Bass) entered the picture.  While performing live covers of other bands Matt and Paul had the idea to start writing their own music with the intent of cutting a full length CD.  With this in mind they started looking for a new drummer and found Anthony Chris.  Then came Charlie our singer.  His main influences musically come from Alice in Chains and Nirvana.  With everybody in place, they cut their first demo in 2007. Using the demo as a launching pad they began the long and time consuming task of having their Demo heard and setting up live show Dates.  Soon after they were playing shows up at the Whiskey a Go Go, Del Mar Fairgrounds along with other venues, which included entering into the Emergenza “Battle of the Bands” where they found themselves playing in the finals in front a crazy sold out 4th and B crowd.  By the bands own admission "one of the highlights of our musical career" to date. THE CAUTERIZED The Cauterized are Death Metal purists.  Like Arthurian Grail Warriors of days long gone, they are on a perpetual Quest to deliver Brutality to a scene which seems to have lost its focus.  Unhindered by trends and constant redefinition of the genre, they remain true to the roots they sprung from: the Dark and Twisted roots of Death Metal. CEREBELLION (added 02-21-2010) Though an accurate label would place Cerebellion somewhere between Hardcore Metal and Hard Rock, an eclectic array of influences is visited throughout their sonic journey.  These range from Metallica to The Gypsy Kings, Pantera to Primus, and Tool to Led Zeppelin.  Defying industry standards, which place great emphasis on gimmicks and short-term returns on passing trends, this band conveys honesty and a focus on song-writing to its audience...The live show is a hybrid of a concert and an athletic event, which consists of a barrage of flailing hair and limbs, and sporadic jumping.  The quartet consistently creates a recycling of positive energy that flows between them and their crowd...The current lineup has been together since 2003.  Currently, Cerebellion is wrapping up their debut full-length album, entitled "Inalienable," which has an early 2010 release date. CESSATION OF LIFE Cessation Of Life play's "High Velocity Speed Metal".  What is that you ask? CHEVA We are Cheva from orange county California.  We recently signed a deal with embryo records out of Las Vegas, NV.  There are 5 members of the band: Santos-vocals, Hector-bass, John-lead guitar, Darrell-guitar, Jimmy-drums.  We have opened for deicide, Zebrahead, Incubus, will haven, Spineshank, Snot, Pressure 4-5, and Testament.  Cheva has been Orange County's #1 metal band for 5 years now and have started to invade Hollywood with the help of friends.  Our sound is similar to Nothingface, Ultraspank, taproot and P.O.D.  Our website and music is at MySpace. CREPITUS (added 09-23-2009) Crepitus is an atmospheric death/black metal band from Orange County.  Influences are Edge of Sanity, Deicide, Carcass, Pestilence, Suffocation, and Death.  The band was originally started back in 1994 but now is reformed with a new lineup which includes; Ryan Colgan (guitars/vocals from Fate Turns Grey & Deception), Nick Jones (Vocals from Summoned & Fate Turns Grey), Chris Chang (Lead Guitar from Deception & Hangar 18), Dusty Sato Smith (Drums form Predation, Deception & Wolfenguts) and Jesse Van Burden (Bass).  Very dark and evil sounding.  Visit Crepitus at MySpace. CURSED LULLABY (added 09-22-2007) Cursed Lullaby weave nightmarish metal with ethereal melody, crafting a sound that's as hypnotic as it is dangerous.  Vocals teeter from angelic to demonic, guiding a trip through lyrical nightmares.  Guitarists Joel and Bryce trade riffs with a bludgeoning volley, as Larry's drums and Tim's bass drive the rhythms.  However, Mandy's ethereal and brutal vocal lines entrance as they kill, beckoning multiple listens.  Ultimately, Cursed Lullaby could very well wake up the entire metal scene. CVRST (added 07-13-2008) CVRST is a new progressive / melodic metal band from Los Angeles.  Our members are Sam Burnett (guitar, vocals), Taylor Smith (guitar), Will Burnett (Drums), and Manuel Artadi (Bass), all multi-talented musicians studied in classical and jazz.  We're here to bring a new sound to the scene with sick vocals, haunting lyrics, and guitar solos you can't tear out of your brain.  Listen for yourself at MySpace. (added 04-17-2010) About D.M.T.  Started in 2007 by brothers Alistar V and Dave V, their music quickly gained the attention of talented artists and hungry musicians.  They were joined in 2008 by front man Jamie Rubel on vocals.  In early 2009, they recorded their first demo with Tommy Decker and Mike Sarkisyan of Spineshank.  They were joined shortly thereafter by Nick Suquett on drums.  A solid headlining act with an original sound and style, DMT has played a multitude of large venues, opening for an assortment of national acts such as Korn, Divine Heresy, Powerman 5000 and Story of the Year. As DMT, we are attempting to create music that pulses with the human energy field, and empowers people to awaken the spirit.  Influenced by a diversity of bands, we are trying to create a sound different than what is currently explored.  Powered by the use of psychoactive drugs, we are tapping into the source of energy to bring you music straight from the gods themselves. DEPARTED (added 06-21-2006) Departed is a Death/Thrash/Black Metal band from Los Angeles (Alhambra/Burbank).  They have been together for a couple of years. DISTORTEDFATE (added 09-15-2007) Hailing from the High desert, DistortedFate combines the talents of Forewarned and Epicidium with a new catalyst, forming a group that is intent on getting your blood pumping with a blend of power metal and a couple heavy influences.  The band is Brian Banner (drummer from Forewarned), Aaron Cross (bass player, also drummer from Epicedium), Michael Weinberg (Vocals), and Bob Spears (Guitars also from Forewarned). DYSPHEMISTIC (added 11-09-2008) Dysphemistic creates a heavy, driving, and innovative sound.  The band blends a unique assortment of styles, primarily metal, hardcore, technical, and alternative.  Raging guitars, complex drums in engaging time signatures, vocals ranging from gutteral barks and grating screams to soaring melodies. ECHOES OF ETERNITY (added 02-09-2006) Longtime friends, guitarist Brandon Patton and drummer Kirk Carrison joined with vocalist Francine Boucher and bassist Duane Cowan to form Echoes of Eternity.  The intention of Echoes of Eternity is to combine the power and agression of extreme metal, the musicianship of progressive metal and the beautiful dynamics of the female voice. EXHAUSTED PRAYER Exhausted Prayer has been performing and recording extreme metal in the Los Angeles area 1999.  The band has since refined their unique harmonic intensity, a transfiguration of blackened death/thrash that continues to send shockwaves through the global metal scene.  Exhausted Prayer has performed persistently across the West Coast, throughout Southern California, and south of the border.  Their new album, Looks Down in the Gathering Shadow, takes the group's signature brutal, melodic blasting towards more progressive horizons. FLATLINE Flatline is a masterful joining of musical ideas from backgrounds that span the country and has combined influences that run the metal gamut from Slayer to Metallica to Pantera.  Flatline's crowd-pleasing sound is a magical coupling of solid bass and guitar riffs, frenzied double bass, and hauntingly personal lyrics complimented by a brutal vocal execution.  Flatline is unlike any band out of LA in recent years and is a rarity in this day of drop tuning and one finger chords.  Flatline is real metal and are guaranteed to garner a huge following. HER NAME WAS DISASTER (added 03-04-2009) Her Name Was Disaster is a Death Metal band from Long Beach consisting of Chris Platt, Gabriel Martinez (Mortem), and Garon Howe.  As a relatively new band, they have conquered what most cannot in such a time frame.  They tear your ears open with the incessant blast of the drums, and gently sew them together again with their eloquent lyrics and anthem-style choruses. They are writing new material, and soon should be recording the full and final release of their first full-length album, "No Exit Beyond This Point," which was inspired by an old graveyard in Long Beach where drummer Garon Howe and guitarist Chris Platt spend time writing lyrics.  Her Name Was Disaster can be expected to still show their valor on the stage, even while in the studio bringing their art to life.  There's a new sound to death metal now, unrivaled by any other. HISS OF ATROCITIES (added 09-18-2009) Driving, battering power.  A perfect description of Hiss of Atrocities (HoA).  Formed in Boston, Massachusetts in 2005, the fierce attack released on stage is an uncompromising blend of high powered drums, unrelenting guitars riffs and unprecedented guitar solos.  Producing a sound fueled by high energy European metal and a dose of both heavy fierce vocals with melodic overtones that can only be described as an engaging experience live. The band commonly states ‘We strive to produce a live performance that is nothing short of an experience for the audience’.  HoA is a band that stands apart from the norm and breaks the boundaries of the genre today. IMPERIAL DECAY (added 10-01-2008) Imperial Decay is a death metal band from Los Angeles determined to make their mark in the metal community.  With such influences as Behemoth, Morbid Angel, Nile, Hate Eternal, Cryptopsy, and many others.  Imperial Decay has quickly gained respect among peers through their live performances and continues to do so with their unique sound.  Keep an eye out for their upcoming shows and soon to be released EP here on Moshking.com. INNERFURY (added 08-02-2007) Innerfury combines the precision riffing of thrash, the ferocity of death metal, the melodic sensibilities of traditional metal, and the groove of Pantera to form a sound that defies all trends in the metal scene.  The band aims to strike a perfect balance between melody, brutality, progressiveness, and catchiness.  Innerfury was formed in late 2005 by Ryan Gallagher (drums) and Bryan Hoxsey (guitar).  The bands final line-up was solidified in early 2006 with Bobby Sylvia and second guitarist Josh Torres.  After months of searching for a vocalist, the band recruited Chad Cowan in September. INSECTICIDE (added 01-03-2009) Insecticide was started in 1986 by Brian Smith and Sherman Jones and went on to have a handful of drummers until Rich Rowen (Beowulf/Danzig) joined in 1988.  Insecticide proceeded to tour on the first 2 demos, this was unheard of at that time!  Insecticide plays all over USA/Mexico/Canada and has opened for Gwar, MOD, Excel, Dr Know, Brujeria and many more! INSENTIENT (added 09-14-2009) Insentient, whose style is drawn from an array of influences such as Death, Cacophony, Megadeth, Dissection, Jason Becker and others, came together after enduring nearly a year long wait and many unsuccessful auditions for suitable members prior to its current line-up. The groups current status is partially complete with members Leslie Medina on vocals and guitar; Marvin Mendez on second guitar, and Steven Govea on drums. Though still short a permanent bass player this will in no way deter Insentient in their pursuit to become a well established and recognized band in the extreme metal scene. KETASET (added 02-06-2005) Spawned in the wilds of middle Tennessee, Ketaset first reared its ugly head in Murfreesboro in the spring of 1998.  If you've ever been to Tennessee, you'll understand this technical metal band's decision to move to LA in 2001.  A line-up change, new material, many a show on the strip and far less glamorous places followed.  Some people have even called us "brutal" so we can't really be all that bad, right? MERCILESS (added 03-27-2009) Merciless was created in December of 2007 as Merciless Fate.  After a couple of months the band reformed with a near complete new line up changing their name to Merciless in the beginning of 2008.  It was just a short period of time after when the band sped their pace and released their first Demo, "The Pleasure of Control".  This group wanted to offer the best that they can come up with for people(fans) and for their own personal musical taste.  The Main idea was that Merciless was going to write material for the Music.  Those who support (fans) would inspire them to create the raw sound of underground Death and Thrash Metal. MERCILESS DEATH (added 02-12-2006) Merciless Death might has well existed in 1985 because their music sounds exactly like it was from that time.  They draw influence from old slayer and anthrax and early exodus, but more so from the more unknown bands like Razor, Exhumer, Onslaught, Violent Force and Powerlord, to name just a few.  These influences are very present in the music and nothing but 80's thrash/speed metal influences them, thrashing from the city of Slayer and Dark Angel. MURDER FAITH (added 12-02-2007) Murder Faith came together in 2007 in Los Angeles.  They have a unique mix of death metal, metal, and thrash.  Aggressive riffs, shredding solo's and sick dubble bass drums drive the mosh pit into a frenzy. OFF THE CROSS (added 02-03-2007) Aggressive, Angry, Brutal Thrash is how you can describe Off The Cross' style of metal.  Formed in 1992, Off The Cross would play all over So. OPERATION DOWNFALL (added 07-20-2008) Operation Downfall is a 4-piece metal band hailing from Los Angeles, California.  After forming in 2000, it was not until early 2005, with the addition of drummer Chris Collins, that the band developed its unique sound.  Since then, the band has been commanding the stages of such famous Los Angeles clubs as The Whisky A Go-Go, The Roxy Theater, and The Knitting Factory and is currently taking on the task of destroying clubs all over Southern California along side such bands as Strife, Straight Faced, My Ruin, and most recently, Warbringer.  Subsequent to the release of their first full-length album Virulent (case 820071) in February of 2008, the band's fan base has been growing substantially.  With Virulent infecting the world, Operation Downfall is quickly becoming a name not soon to be forgotten. RESISTANCE Just signed with Lion Music, Resistance's killer new debut release, "Lies In Black", is now available at MySpace.  Resistance plays a brand of metal that is heavy, melodic and at times intricate with powerful vocals.  If you like your metal with some thought put into the songs then you are definately going to have to check this band out. RISE Rise was formed in 1990 from the reminants of the cult thrash band Evil Dead.  The members of Rise are Istvan Lendvay (Vocals/Guitars), Rik Hansen(Guitars), Johnson Wang (Keyboards), and Jaime Vivar (Drums).  Their new CD "Divine Eternity" will be out at the end of March 2001.  I suggest you pick it up when it is finished. RONNY NORTH (added 11-30-2009) Ronny North plays his own signature brand of instrumental guitar rock.  He won Best guitarist in the 2006 All Access Magazine Music Awards and he was the artist of the month for his sponsor Morley Pedals in April 2009.  Ronny and his band play all over Southern California and regularly share stages with major acts.  They recently played the main stage for NASCAR at their Copart 300 Race on Sept 10th ,2009 for 1,000s of race fans at Auto Club Speedway. He also sells music and gets airplay all over the world.  His music has also been used on MTV's Real World Reality shows as well as a few other TV and movie projects.  Ronny has also been featured in all the major guitar and music magazines.  Michael Molenda (Editor and Chief of Guitar Player Magazine) said some very complementary things about Ronny's playing.  Ronny is also regularly featured in ad campaigns for his sponsors (He currently has 50 endorsements including a signature guitar by Nikita guitars) and is a very popular clinician and does trade shows and clinics all over America for them.  Ronny is tomorrow's guitar hero today. RUSTY EYE (added 08-14-2007) Rusty Eye is a LA based heavy metal band with unique sounds and introspective, mind challenging messages.  Their signature style could be described as an interesting blend of various Heavy Metal styles with a touch of Horror influence. SINICLE (updated 01-19-2009) Sinicle is a power trio metal band who brings excitement, tension, and aggression to their live performances and songwriting.  Their music is a unique breed of Metal with hard hitting grooves, extensive solos, screaming and singing, and an attitude to change the face of rock. Formed in Reno NV, Sinicle recently relocated in Los Angeles CA to attend The Musicians Institute and to Expand their audience.  Influences include Pantera, Sabbath, Metallica, but are not limited to metal.  Metal Has it Coming. SLEEPING WITH ANGELS (added 07-17-2008) Formed in June of 2007, Sleeping with Angels continues to grow stronger than ever before.  Already one year of being together, the band has accomplished so much including landing a gig at The World Famous Whisky a Go Go as their 2nd gig and so much more.  With opportunities like these, it gave them a chance to expand their capabilities then they ever imagined.  The band became one of the best local acts people have ever seen and heard in a while.  Little by little wiping out trends, and destroying everyone that comes to their way.  The sound of the band is very distinctive, capturing the sound of their influences such as Black Sabbath, Danzig, Kiss, Judas Priest, Type o Negative, and so much more.  But at the same time, they are also original, distinctive and creative in their very own way.  The band is currently being played in several radio stations, attracting a lot attention from venues, promoters, A&R's, and so much more.  The band plans to bring down the current trend to make way for a new one.  To bring back the style of 70‘s rock but also everything that is original. SOTHIS (updated 05-21-2008) Sothis is a Symphonic Black Metal band from Los Angeles that is signed by Candlelight Records.  The band sights influences such as Emperor, Immortal, Limbonic Art and Gehenna amongst others. SOULBLEED (added 01-30-2007) SOULBLEED was formed and taken on by four members who have been true to their roots-Heavy Metal.  Dave Rubenhold, Steve Marshall, Elaina Bangma, and Josh Kane strive to create music that is powerful, raw, melodic at times yet always against the grain and always metal. SOULBLEED has always been about the music first and foremost without relying on gimmicks or conforming to current trends.  This band thrives on giving metal fans what they want and provides something for everyone. SOULWRAITH (added 01-31-2009) Soulwraith is Metal from Huntington Beach.  They mix newer metal with old, but have their own touch to everything with a new sound.  Anxious and hard working, Soulwraith is Phil Blankenship (vocals, guitar), Ryan O'Cooney (lead guitar, backing vocals), Garrett Tellers (Bass), and Mike Russo (Drums).  Check them out at MySpace. STATIUS (added 09-29-2008) Hailing from the San Fernando Valley, Statius is a melodic death/thrash metal band fuled by the fire of five metal obsessed teenagers.  Bringing forth elements of power, thrash, death, and black metal into their music, Statius marches on to claim victory for true heavy metal music.  With plenty of dedication, material, perseverance and plans of recording an EP within the coming year, Statius is ready for anything. SYMPHONY OF HORROR (added 03-28-2010) Black, Death melodic metal was formed in October of 2008.  Symphony of Horror was started by Jesse (lead man) and former member Joel to bring metal into a new heavier, dark, and melodically brutal sound that will please many to come.  Mariano our bassist was the 3 element to come in.  Then we found a guitarist that stood out, Carlos.  Justin is one of the most amazing drummers that we had ever heard.  We were flabbergasted in what we saw.  Things started to pick up and now the quest begins.  With Mariano on bass, Carlos the lead guitarist, Justin on drums and Jess on lead guitar and vox our sound is stronger and faster than ever before.  If you think our sound was thunderous before, wait till you feel the brutal horror we conjure from the depths of darkness.  Symphony of Horror, a beautiful death awaits. TAKING OVER (added 05-03-2009) Taking Over was formed in July 2007 by elimination.  The band was formed to continue the destruction he was doing for his previous band and continue playing fast ugly thrash metal.  We have played with many great bands and conquered many stages with our attack.  With many line up changes the band has been progressing slowly but we have no plans to stop.  We play what influences us which is old hardcore punk, 80's thrash metal and black metal.  Check us out if you like either of the three. TAZUMAL (added 12-23-2008) Tazumal is the hardest working band in Southern California.  We are a strong, committed and Intense band.  It shows in our Aggressive Guitar Riffs, Violent Blast Beats and the pure Brutality of our Music.  We have shared the stage with some of the greatest bands such as Cannibal Corpse, Exhumed, Hypocrisy, Vile, Brujeria, Exodus, Cattle Decapitation, Suffocation, Behemoth, Deicide, Cryptopsy and Ed Guy.  We destroyed the stages at the Galaxy and the Key Club in March 5th 2007 with Cattle Decapitation and Cryptopsy.  We tore up The Galaxy on July 14th 2007 with Krisiun, and Hate Eternal.  Check our gig section we have several shows coming up. THORNS OF SIN (added 11-30-2009) Well produced Blackened/Melodic Metal for listeners of Death, Cradle of Filth, Megadeth, Dissection, The Absence, Dark Tranquility, Testament. Thorns of sin is quality guitar work, shreddy solos, technical drumming and strong song writing that appeals to most true fans of the metal spectrum.  Definitely not a musical act to be ignored. TORMENT-ID (added 10-14-2008) The sound of Tormentid can be best described as Traditional/Thrash/Black/Death.  Meaning, we take the traditional riff styles from such bands as Black Sabbath, with a bit of Thrash influence, mix in machine gun drums, and add Black/Death metal lyrics to taste!  That is Tormentid soup! THUNDEROUS (added 03-14-2009) Thunderous born in 2003 under the sign of metal has had a strong drive to create metal in its truest form influenced by a large variety of styles from black/death/thrash.  The line up has changed over the years, still Zet Doom Occulta (bass/vokills), Dagon (guitars) and Black emperor (drums) hold the torch high up in the sky.  By metal we live... by metal we'll die! TORMENTER (added 04-05-2009) ToRmenTeR is a 5-piece Thrash/Speed Metal Entity bent on full-blown domination and will crush anyone in their way.  With influences ranging from the NWOBHM and 80's Thrash Metal Bands, ToRmenTeR has honed a sound of their own over the past year.  ToRmenTeR has played many shows on many different stages with several great bands and plans to continue this. UNSANCTIFIED Based out of the San Gabriel Valley, Unsanctified plays fast, brutal, Death Metal.  Unsanctified is Donnie Marhefka (Vocals), Hans Faber (Guitars), Brian Carreon (Guitars), Robert Marks (Bass), and Sean Harding (Drums). VAGRANT (added 12-23-2008) Vagrant, the name alone implies a way of life for this 4 piece group hailing from Long Beach.  Coming from literally nothing to tear through the Southern California Metal scene starting in the 90's when this style of music was considered "dead" due to the grunge movement. Vagrant's music has been described as "Hardcore Metal" or "Extreme Metal".  But, trying to label or classify this band has been made tough considering the many styles brought to the band by each member. Vagrant hails from Long Beach and is co-founding members Tim Woolpert (lead vocalist) and Mike Pain (guitarist) along with members Mike McGarvey (bass) and Dave Verdugo (drummer). VESTERIAN (added 05-16-2009) Vesterian is Violent Blackmetal formed in 1996 by Verigo Calegerio.  Vesterian performs true, serious and interesting Blackmetal for those who favor Old Dark Throne, Dark Funeral, Setherial, Mutiilation.  No commercial/mainstream influences or crossover musical styles.  This is strictly Violent Blackmetal for the coming Warage. VISCERA (added 01-23-2010) Viscera plays straight up, no bullshit thrash metal from the darkest depths of their spiteful hearts. Formed in late 2007 by brothers Ralph and Chris Booze on vocals, bass, and guitar, Viscera originally featured the drumming of Carlos Chincha, descendent of the ancient Inca.  Shortly after formation the band recorded a four track demo, "Incapacitated," released June 2008. Since relocating to Los Angeles, the band has expanded its lineup and developed a ferocious musical assault.  Viscera is quickly gaining a reputation within the local metal scene for their formidable live show and intense musicianship. WARBRINGER (added 02-30-2006) Formed in late 2004, Warbringer set out to show the local metal scene that Warbringer was a force to be reckoned with, playing no-holds barred rip-roaring thrash metal.  After a 4-song demo and tons of shows with fellow ragers like Merciless Death, Fueled By Fire, Hirax, Dekapitator, and Toxic Holocaust, Warbringer released "One by One the Wicked Fall" EP in October of 2006.  Later that year, Warbringer had the privilege of signing to one of the most respected heavy metal labels in the world, Century Media. Warbringer recorded their debut album, "War Without End" in the fall of '07 with Mr.  Bill Metoyer (Slayer, Fates Warning, Sacred Reich, Hallows Eve) and went on to appear on a few compilation albums such as Speed Kills...Again, Metal For the Masses 6 and Thrashing Like a Maniac comp with some of the best acts around like Municipal Waste, Toxic Holocaust and Evile. Warbringer has been honing their live show into a violent thrash assault touring the US with Exodus, Goatwhore and Arsis in January/February; Nile, Suicide Silence, The Faceless and Unexpected in March/April; Europe with Napalm Death and Suffocation in May/June, a week of headline shows in the UK with Gama Bomb, and back to Europe in August with Sworn Enemy and All Shall Perish, which kicked off with our performance at Wacken Open Air, another US/Canadian tour with Finntroll and finally in October supporting Overkill. WARFACE Out of the depths of blackest hell, Warface has risen, breeding a new genre of death metal, combining furious technical riffing and brutal pounding chunk.  Disturbing the weak minded with a new brand of lyrical content.  Warface is a San Diego based trio that exploded onto the scene with the intent to support and add to its brutality. WINTERTHRALL (added 09-26-2009) Combining some of LA and Orange Countys most destructive metal forces, Winterthrall brings the European blackened death sound stateside.  Having been in such influential acts as Evil Dead, Noctuary, and Deathevokation, the members of Winterthrall sought out to form their own unique metal vision in late 2001.  8 years stronger, and with 3 critically acclaimed releases, Winterthrall remains never compromising, ever evolving, and refusing to be pigeon-holed in style or influenced by trends.  Let us drown out the sun with the blood of our discontent. WOLFGATE (added 12-23-2008) Wolfgate was established originally in the midst of 2005 after Dommiel, Perkunas and Sloarch got sick of playing with different bands and decided to start Wolfgate with their own personal sounds.  After our second song was written, Perkunas moved out of state and was forced to leave Wolfgate.  Despite the absence of our drummer, Wolfgate continued on writing music until Dommiel contacted (Trooper) Lord Mattias to try drumming for Wolfgate and eventually he become part of Wolfgate.  After several vocal auditions with no luck, we decided to keep the vocals within the band.  That's when Sloarch and Lord Mattias took over the vocals there after.  Mike joined Wolfgate for bass but unfortunately he decided to leave the band due to personal circumstances.  Wolfgate finished writing the songs and got ready to record "Howling Lament" when Magus Demericus joined the band as bassist.  Wolfgate is now working on new songs for the second album, to be announced. XNO (added 05-29-2009) XNO has steadily risen in popularity throughout Southern California due in part to an interactive live show that strives to be an unforgettable visual experience, engaging the audience from the stage and the floor.  XNO regularly plays with high profile bands ranging from LA Guns to Great White as well as a long list of other popular local and national acts.  With a growing fan base at every show, the XNO Alliance amazes and supports the band, making their performances that much more intense and intimate.
