Slayer @ Verizon Wireless Amphitheater On August 24th 2007
By Jose "Diablo"

The show started with a pentagram filled white curtain and a silhouette of Kerry King playing the intro to the song "Fleshstorm" off their latest album "Christ Illusion".  With chants of "SLAYER...SLAYER" filling the air, the curtain dropped to reveal Tom, Jeff and Dave.  After "Fleshstorm", Tom comes up to the microphone and shouts "WAR ENSEMBLE!" and they go right into the song.  The pit starts going and the heads start banging as thousands of hardcore Slayer fans prepare for a night of a good old fashion Slayer ass kicking!

As the night goes on Slayer continues to play some of their best classic songs like "Chemical Warfare", and "Ghost of War".  They also crank out some new ass kicking Slayer songs like Jihad and Payback.  The lights then go out and the intro to "South of Heaven" starts to play as the huge upside down cross made up of Marshall cabs starts to lower form the top of the stage.  Slayer hits the stage and play "South of Heaven".  As "South of Heaven" begins to fade out, the thunderous floor toms of Dave Lambordos drums start the intro to Raining Blood.  Slayer capped off their set with "Mandatory Suicide" and "Angel of Death".  Overall it was a great show, wouldn't expect anything less from a great band such as Slayer.  After all these years they still manage to throw an ass kicking show! Slayer shows are a unique experience you cannot get anywhere else.
