Megadeth @ The Grove of Anaheim on September 12th 2007

Megadeth made a stop at the Grove of Anaheim on Wednesday night on their “Tour of Duty 2007” U.S tour. Dave Mustaine called this his “homecoming” since he grew up in the Orange County area, and that’s why he chose to play in Anaheim as opposed to a venue in Los Angeles. The Grove was packed with thousands of eager Megadeth fans. Dave Mustaine and Megadeth hit the stage and cranked out “Sleepwalker” off their new “United Abominations” album. They then continued into “Take No Prisoners”. The sold out Grove goes crazy, singing, “Take no prisoners, take no Shit!” The energy of the crowd was amazing, singing along to almost every song, even the new ones. You could tell there were a lot of hardcore Megadeth fans. The show went on and Megadeth continued to play fan favorites like “Skin O’ My Teeth”, “Hangar 18”, and “Peace Sells”. They slow things down a little bit half way through their set to play “A Toute Le Monde”, which Dave just recently remade with the beautiful Lacuna Coil singer Cristina Scabbia. Right after that they go into “Tornado” and the metal thrashing starts again.
The show overall was good. I would have expected a little more energy out of the band. They did play a lot of great songs and the hardcore Megadeth fans sold out the Grove and loved every minute of it. Megadeth capped off the night with a “Holy Wars/Mechanix” mix which I thought that was a great way to cap off a Megadeth show.
