Scorpions at the Gibson Amphitheatre on September 15th 2007

The Scorpions played to a sold out Gibson Amphitheater this past Saturday. What can I say about the show other than WOW! If you're a Scorpions fan, and you missed this show, you missed a good one. This was a great show. The Scorpions came out full of energy and that energy seemed to escalate as the show went on. The packed house loved every minute of it. The first half of the show was packed with songs like "The Zoo" and "Holiday". They also threw in a couple of new songs like "Hour 1" and "3-2-1" off their new album "Humanity – Hour 1". These new songs sounded pretty good, and had vintage Scorpions written all over them. Half way through the set, they paused for a Bass/Drum solo. Bassist Pawel Maciwoda and drummer James Kottak showed off their skills to the fans a little bit, at one point they even played a little part of Rush's "YYZ". It seemed that there were a lot of Rush fans in the crowd as well, as they all cheered once they heard the song. The second half of the show was filled with the wailing guitars of Rudolf and Matthias playing songs like "Blackout", "Big City Nights", and "Dynamite". Of course it wouldn't be a Scorpions show with out "No One Like You" and "Still Loving you", these songs mean a lot more when you're with that special someone you really care about, believe me. The Scorpions ended the show with their most popular song "Rock you Like a Hurricane".
This was a great show. Klaus' voice still towers over the crowd, and the wailing guitars of Rudolf and Matthais give you the chills, in a good, FUCK YEAH! kind of way. The Scorpions are a great band to see live, and with shows like this one, it seems like we'll be seeing the Scorpions for a long time to come.
